They obviously think they should be paid more but know the public would not tolerate them voting to give themselves higher wages so they have "gentlemen's agreements" to fleece the Parliament for every penny they can get! Expenses should be there to pay to support a politician to do the work they need to do not to trouser every penny they can retrieve!
